Grinders Switch Ensemble
|
Charlie Garner started his band in 2004 and jokingly named it The Grinders Switch Ensemble. After his death in 2008, the band kept the name in memory of Garner. The Grinders Switch Ensemble plays every Saturday on a live radio show called The Grinders Switch Hour. They feature a guest every Saturday, of which the band provides backup during the performance.
The Grinders Switch Ensemble is asked to play in many events during the year. The group has received recognition over the years, including Ambassadors of Hickman County. All members of the band volunteer their time and talent; it’s their passion to keep live traditional music alive. The members of the band are: (left to right) Chris “Froggie” Love (Drums, Vocal), Buddy Chandler (Vocal, Guitar), Darin Cochran (Band Director, Lead & Rhythm Guitar, Vocal), Mickey Bunn (Host, Mandolin), Steve “Little Stevie” Turner (Vocal, Guitar), Bob Shively (Bass), Doyle Grisham (Steel Guitar), and Mike Blackwell (Vocal, Guitar).
