Dr. I.B. Beale, Centerville Optometrist and artist, has used high excellent artistic talent to paint a beautiful portrait of Hickman County's famous poet and songwriter Beth Slater Whitson.

A native of Martin, Tennessee, Dr. Beale came to Centerville after his graduation from college and time spent as a pilot in World War II. Hi wife, Mary Barr, convinced him that her home town would be a good place to practice optometry.

Over the years, Dr. Beale has given himself and his talent to benefit our county in many ways.

We all say, "Thank you, Doc," not only for this lovely portrait, but for all of your generosity through the years to all of Hickman County.
