Catherine Hurd
Sculptor |
If you have chicken wire, strips of fabric, river rock, and thin set mortar, what do you have? To Catherine Hurd, you have the makings of a piece of art. She enjoys sculpting animals.
In the 1990’s, Hurd took a sculpting class at Florida State University. Her first project was a bear. She admits that the result was a bit crude, but thought the class was a lot of fun. Since that class, she has made a dragon, a lizard, a tortoise, and an armadillo, just to name a few. Aside from sculpting animals, Hurd likes to dabble in art and enjoys writing screenplays and stage plays. |
